MOSH stands for Minimisation of Suicide Harm. We are “working towards mentally health communities”.
MOSH is very unique in that we are fully self-funded. And when people come to MOSH we will refer them freely to other agencies and charities if doing so is in their best interest.
MOSH is about creating opportunities for people to reach out for support in times of crisis, if they feel they are at risk of harming themselves or others, and those who are bereaved through suicide
MOSH aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide
MOSH is working towards providing the wider community with the tools to help each other so they don’t get caught in the mental health system, or know where to go for help if they need it.
MOSH is showing the community that you don’t have to be a professional to help people, you just need to be able to listen and know where to get help if needed.
MOSH is about helping to create a sense of purpose for people, somewhere they can come to engage in activities that will link them to others in a similar situation.
MOSH provides resources so people know where to go for help.
